GSB AUTOMATION

I will get that added to GSB and AU. Not sure how fast it will happen though - but I feel the ideas are good ones

admin - 1-4-2022 at 06:57 PM

New spreadsheet
best values in dark green, next best light green
coulombs up to h now used. ie bcdefgh
average and peak of all the coulombs added.
File will be in your previously supplied pcloud link. Only for Au purchasers. Not trial users
version 48

Version 48 of AU in pcloud
Has 3 fields you can sort on

version48.png - 38kB

also has longshort ratio
64.80 now outputs log of lsr, not lsr while the spread sheet has log lsr and lsr

so in the spread sheat use lsr columb and this will actually be log lsr
lsr >0 is long bias. Less 0 is short bias

admin - 19-4-2022 at 02:30 AM

gsb automation version 20220416.1 in pcloud folder
has max time field
I want to test all session times from (1am to 10 am) start to say 1330
and all start times from 1am to 10:30 am
for example you can have session time of 1am but start trading no earlier than at 10:00 am

lets say session time 1 am to 10am every 30 minutes
start time relative offset 0 to 10:30am hours every 30 minutes
if we started at 10am session time with 10 hour relative start offset, we would be starting at 20:00
SO now we can have max time allowed.
any times after this will not be run
No other changes in this build. Was used for testing CL, but Bruce said was worth trying on nq etc

admin - 22-4-2022 at 02:09 AM

NEW BUILD OF AUTOMATION in your pcloud folder
has start and end time, not just end time now.
Reason is you many want to test all start times from 1130pm to 8am
not just 00 to 8am

also new spreadsheet, version 49. 48 had bugs so disregard it.

Daniel UK1 - 22-4-2022 at 03:16 AM

@Peter

This would then mean, that overnight trading and building is solved, and au will provide the correct settings for this ?
If one provides 24h data, and set start time to example 20:00 - 0800.

But question is then about the session, do you set this as static in manager, if so how should it look like ?

I have no yet been able to play around with the new session and time features in AU.

admin - 22-4-2022 at 05:55 AM

@daniel, with changes in GSB you can use do 20:00 to 8:00 etc but its roughly two days away. Ive stopped most GSB development this week, as I have to get Ninja trader update out. Its been a lot of work

admin - 17-5-2022 at 01:27 AM

spreadsheet version 50.1 out
It can sort on 4 fields now
New automation.
Dates can be modified. Previous dates was global dates.

dates.png - 146kB4inputs.png - 14kB

admin - 17-5-2022 at 01:29 AM

I used dates / global dates to test the effect of different start dates.
I kept dates and global dates start date at the same period

Hi Peter,

could you clarify your concept here please.
It flew over me head a bit,
you, used dates and global dates to test the different start dates.. BUT you then kept, dates and global date, start date at the same period ?

Me not understand :)

I get the great things to be able to move in AU the start and end date..
but i dont get why you and how, you would handle this is move au, somehow they would need to move in sync or at least you control the sync ?

Hi Peter, possible to use above example now, or its still in dev ?

admin - 11-8-2022 at 08:13 PM

sorry Daniel, missed your post
Here is example using todays build of AU (IN your pcloud folder GSBautomation20220812.zip unzip into your existing au folder)
todays build gives you the option to remove a session time / start time
ie here is all times from 200am to 600am with start of trading time added onto the session start time of all times 0 to 3 hours step 30 min

In this example I have removed 530 sessiontime with + 30 start time as its been tested already. This is the new feature in todays build

new au released 220825.1 in pcloud folder
Fix for last build giving an exception

Next GSB 65.06 (under testing) has features needed to run some of the newer features in AU.
It is not recommended you use these new features unless you are a guru in GSB use and theory.
ie sign mode, weights etc
Done at a expert GSB uses request, and even I wont be using the features

admin - 2-9-2022 at 07:01 PM

new excel spread sheet out
Project3 v54-6inputNoclipboardUsed
It has 6 inputs, and no longer ties up the use of windows clip board. The clipboard frustrated me as for big excel spread sheets, it took some time to process and I cant work well with no windows clip board

admin - 8-1-2023 at 05:47 PM

new automation 20230102.1
Has option for new opend (not normalized) filters
exe in pcloud but not yet done auto update for all users.

One client had a particularly brilliant idea I had not thought off
AU can now optimize the bar interval.
so if you have 30 minute data, and bar interval is set to 2, , we are doing 60 minute bars.
Right now GSB and the Excell spread sheet dont support the feature, but it will happen in a 2 to 3 weeks. Sorry for the delays

new au is in pcloud folder

Worked for me this morning, what you mean is wrong ?

admin - 20-1-2023 at 04:13 PM

pacloud is fixed, needed a server reboot. No big deal but this topic should go under general support.
PA pro is much more powerful than pa cloud, so recommend you all use it.
Forgot to release the new version this week, will do so next week. It was available for download on the forum under papro exe file

Next build in GSB Automation
session time linked to bar interval
there are 14 30 min bars from 800 to 1500

but if we had session time 800 to 1500 but used 29 min bars the last bar of the day will be 16 minutes long
Instead we can now have session of 814 to 1500, and each bar 29 min long
The feature is built in the next build of AU, but it has a critical bug and doesnt work yet.
This is an advanced features, and if you dont understand it, ignore it for now

@Peter
Very nice feature indeed, thanks for that.

Could you advise how to properly setup such test, I assume you dont use "move" for both barinterval and session on its own, but rather its controlled using the new session move that then move both in sync ?

Thanks

Peter could you kindly when you have time, reply ?
Would be great to know how to set up session / bar interval test when its released.

New excel out soon. Has median rather than average to sort of Favourites F. Median is a better to give a more typical value of results, rather than the average

excel-new.png - 29kB

admin - 27-7-2023 at 11:04 PM

New excel sheet. Docs to this will come in time. Main change is using median for fav F (out of sample np/dd) instead of average.
Another tab for repeatability tests is also done, but not finished.

high level docs are here
https://trademaid.info/gsbhelp/ImprovedRepeatabilityMethod.h...
these are not complete yet.

new automation, changes not documented yet
GSBAutomation.20230827

new build of automation and excel in pcloud

high level note on it are here
https://trademaid.info/forum/viewthread.php?tid=117&page=37#...
Basically we have day of week functions in GSB & automation, and enhanced repeatability tests in excel

admin - 25-8-2023 at 06:12 PM

excel 67.2 is now in your pcloud folder.
much faster and new features for repeatability tests.

Here is a sample output

this is my benchmark for Gold

TradingPrice - 28-8-2023 at 02:13 AM

@admin

What is median periods?

admin - 28-8-2023 at 04:55 AM

@TradingPrice, instead of doing the average of (typically 100) identical tests, we did the median which I felt was a more accurate reflection of the true central range.
I then also filter the metrics by +- 2 st deviations. This is the figure Im using for repeatability figure.

TradingPrice - 28-8-2023 at 07:16 AM

@admin

Thanks, I meant on the latest Automation sheet "Median Periods". default is 100, that would be 100 tests? what if I'm only doing 3 tests?

On another note, is there a way to disable any median calculation? I'm using v57 as I believe median just slows calculation down and I'm still using averages

Screenshot 2023-08-28 081543.png - 1kB

admin - 28-8-2023 at 05:04 PM

@TradingPrice
the reason you need 100 tests is if you are changing your benchmark setup, and want to test if it improves.
100 tests = 50 indicator tests, 100 system builds (short cut method) 2500 systems per test.
No need to do this if you are just looking for systems

with only 4 tests, speed should not be an issue. New excel is 4??? times faster than the old one.
the spreadsheet has average and medium so should not be an issue to you.
also in the spread sheet has day of week, but i think only the most experienced GSB users will want to use this.
they need a later build of AU too for this which I havnt got around to releasing

admin - 28-8-2023 at 07:26 PM

correction, automation 20230814.3 was released last week. Main change is day of week functions which most (but not all) users will not use. In your pcloud folder

admin - 11-9-2023 at 12:53 AM

20230911.1 release. It has the option to que multiple automations in sequence.
first au, put a 0 here, second put a 1, third a 2 etc

68.1 excel.
a few improvements and it doesnt use clip board. Some earlier versions did.

new automation in your pcloud
Has bug fix for error when no moves done at all
and all filters added.
Some of these filters are not tested, and few dont even have ts code for it yet.

You need move filters command for testing filters

release 20240102.1
Has all the non GA secondary filter options
has exit timeofday command ( i dont like the concept, would prefer to move session time)

has more options to search on

portfolioquanttrader2020 - 17-2-2024 at 01:15 AM

Hi Peter
I would like to be able to move the data 2 or data three symbol, to improve systems, that is, to be able to see if the intermarket filter is better in one index or another.

admin - 17-2-2024 at 01:20 AM

@portfolioquanttrader2020
there currently is stats in excel how often a data stream is used.
If is never used it must be bad. If its sometimes good it might be good.
If its used a lot it should be good

portfolioquanttrader2020 - 17-2-2024 at 01:26 AM

Tell me where I can see it.
It has been proven that system architecture is simpler with more data flows than with less. Therefore, less overfit.
Closing data2 > Opening data2, and comparing with data one, can serve as confirmation.
How is GSB configured to view secondary data filters 2?

admin - 18-2-2024 at 07:38 PM

@portfolioquanttrader2020
Here is is
In my example only data1 was used.

GSB genetically will try all data streams and chose the one that works best by GA.

Often both data streams can be chosen in any one system

build 20240530 released
allow import of secondary filter list from gsb to be imported into AU
Update in pcloud. update the exe, pdb and version.txt file

Kill of gsb managers is now soft kill, not hard kill. Hard kill can leave workers running with no manager to pull in the systems made by workers
Updated list of secondary filters in AU. There are secondary filters included that are not released, but in my own build only

Filter so standalone cant be selected. (it wont work) Only manager can be selected

admin - 11-6-2024 at 02:27 AM

many small updates to GSBautomation, cosmetic things, and increased speed for users who run multiple managers in parallel. (recommend if your managers take 10 minutes or less to do jobs
If your doing indicator build, and then 2 copies of the second run, it can now to those two runs in parallel.
IE if max manager >1 then rows 3 &4 can run in parallel.
running mutiple managers in parallel keeps your workers driven harder, which is more efficient.
If you have one manager, and your computer takes say 4 minutes to do all the stats of 300 systems, you have all your workers idle for 4 minutes.
as the managers are started with a delay so they are not in the same sequence all the time, more of your workers will be running at one time

admin - 15-7-2024 at 01:47 AM

GSB AUTOMATION in pcloud build 20240713.1

many refinements
For those of you with some decent amount of workers, many speed enhancements due to the ability to run numerous managers at once in parallel.
So im doing 2500 systems with anyware from 2 * (1 indicator build, 2 systems builds) for super coarse testing, and 50 * 2 for precise testing.

Has features like if a manager in indicator build aborts for any reason, the 2 system build runs will also abort
What happens if this doesnt happen is you get system build with the full set of indicators, not the reduced top 10 indicators.

admin - 15-7-2024 at 02:50 AM

new gsb automation Project3 v70.01.xlsm in pcloud. Default is now no on count primary indicators

new build of GSB automation.
https://trademaid.info/gsbhelp/Dayofweekexamples.html
https://trademaid.info/gsbhelp/NewFeatures1.html
A lot more tweaks and refinements have been added, but the docs show the most important ones.
Over time more features from GSB left side of interface are added into Automation.
