Can't Load My Symbols and Data into GSB

Good afternoon everyone,

I have been trying to add Futures Symbols and Data I downloaded from TS. I have followed the instructions in the GSB Guide "Supplying Data to GSB" but I keep getting errors. I downloaded the Nat Gas continuous contract with 1 minute interval for the past five years. I then formatted the file name to read NG.1. Minute.1600.1700.CTUsa.txt and added to a Folder I created on my desktop for the data.
I also added the txt file to GSB Price Data Folder. The error I keep getting reads as follows:
“Invalid price file A value of NG.1. Minute.1600.1700.CTUsa.txt cannot be found in the contracts list. Please correct the errors and try again.”
Can anyone help me out. I tried to find a way to add the symbol other than what is shown in the guide but no luck. Thanks in advance for any help provided.:(

Hi Jimmy,
This should match your file name.

Please post in this section to save the forum being cluttered.
That way you also get faster response as no one gets notification if you make a new thread.

Hi there
I have exactly the same issue as Jimmy. The documentation for GSB is really very poor.
One can follow exactly as the very outdated information tells you to, but none of it makes any sense as the screens that one gets does not match the ones that are illustrated in the instructions.
I've saved all my data in 1 min form but there is no way to tell how I change the 1 min data to the time interval multiple as some of the instruction images show under the "beginner area".
How do I now load the data into the programme?
I have saved 12 years of 1 min data for CL and RB into the price data folder in GSB.
When I look in the folder via windows, the txt files are there together with a number that came with GSB.
When I now open the standalone version of GSB and want to load the RB and CL data as Data 1 and data 2, I see no way to do this.
I am pulling my hair out!!!!

Please take cognisance of the fact that users joining now are dealing with instructions that appear to have been written in 2017 and appear to have not been updated with the GSB GUI updates.
This is all very confusing!!
Please could someone clarify the steps we need to do to get data into GSB and then load it so we can start playing with the meat of the software.

Much appreciated
Thank you.

Don't know if I stumbled on something and whether I have done this correctly.
I selected the "Opt Price"data field in the GSB and was presented with a global data "directory" type of thing.
By trial and error, I added a name in the left column and then matched the name with my primary and secondary data files and then changed the multiple to 45 for both in order to get 45 min bars.

Is this correct? Now would I just select that combination in the "opt price" data field?

Thanks

TD.

Sorry for the delays in this post. I was not aware of this post, hence the very slow response.
The normal responce time to any posts should be less 24 hours, Monday to Friday Australian time.

This info should be posted here
https://trademaid.info/forum/viewthread.php?tid=229

That way other users and I get an email as soon as you post something.

The current documentation is up to date to matching the beta version that GSB purchasers have.
The trial users get updates every 2 to 3 months, and so GSB for trial users may not match the documentation as well.

What you are asking is documented here.
https://trademaid.info/gsbhelp/Data1.html

TraderDOc, If you search on "Note in the example below, 29 mi" you will see silver data1, gold data2

If you say you are looking at documentation from 2017, do you mean videos?
They range from old to newer, but not as uptodate as the docs here.
https://trademaid.info/gsbhelp/Data1.html

The reality is GSB is developing at high speed, unlike some other products that are stagnant.
GSB 2.0 is also in the pipeline, which means significant change in how a lot of things will appear.
So many videos will have to be re-done.

If you are stuck, then its simple to do a teamviewer.com session to help you out.

Peter
