Results don't match

Hello,
I hate to complain but I am a bit frustrated lately with GSB Ver.55.560
a few things:
1.) When I create systems and filter it by for example highest Pearson and it shows let's say 0.993 as soon as I click on that system to look at the graph it will change all the numbers for the worse and the person may only be 0.89 now the Net Profit is lower and the drawdown is higher?

2.) When I create a system and use Exit on close I have trades that don't close on the same day. I have tried everything setting up session times setting up MOC@time and still get trades that close a day or a few days later?

3.) All the systems I create in GSB never match in Tradestation no matter what I try ( I have spent over a year with this software and love the concept but never get the same results in TradeStation)

I also have the suspicion that there are not a lot of people on this forum that get the same results and that is why we don't see more systems posted by anyone.
Working as an Audio engineer mixing songs we would always test it out on several different audio systems, for example, a car radio and stereo equipment at home and in the studio to make sure it sounds "good" on all systems and make necessary adjustments if it didn't.
I am not sure this is the case with GSB? for example try it on an Amazon server in the US with a different time zone and a different data setup on Tradestation.

Also, why does the data setup need to be so confusing? I would be perfectly fine if it was a requirement when using GSB to set my computer to a certain time zone but currently it is more than confusing. With local and exchange times. Different Exchange times. Why not just say everyone adjust your computer to US Eastern Time and use exchange time for your data export?

I am sorry for all the venting but it's a bit frustrating to have a theoretical great tool but not see comparable results.

Hi Mark,
a few questions.
How come your not in 56.01? There are lots of bug fixes in recent versions.
1) I have seen this before, but never nailed the exact cause - and im keen to do so.
If you save your opt settings as ...bad.
right click the left men and reset to default
manually put all your settings back, save settings as ....good. then build systems again.
Likely that will fix the issue, but send me the good and bad file so I can identify the issue.

2) can i look on teamviewer.com to inspect this.
are gsb trades exiting a day or too late, or ts or both?

3) Recent builds with TS I believe will always give 99% + match. There were numerous bug fixes in the last month. (MC is a another matter when you have data 2. At the heart of the issue is bugs MC need to fix) TS itself has lots of internal bugs that need to be covered up to to speak. This is in the context of having data2 used. The ts bugs however have been covered up sucessfully.
I dont agree with your assumption on posting of results. One user I know is compiling systems / results but wants a decent track record to build up. Last week he said he had a very good GSB week live trading (surprised me, as my markets didnt move much)

Nearly all ts/mc users are confused over time zones so your not alone. TS charts session times are in exchange time, but exported in local time.
GSB must be set to the data in the exported file which is local time.
There is no way many users are going to be willing to change time zones on there pc. Ive done it but few users will.

Hi Marc,

I'm glad that you are getting some assistance from Peter and that you are persevering with the product.

To assist with your concern about getting similar results between GSB and TS, I thought I'd just build some systems, pick a random one, export it from GSB 56.010 and import into TS9. These are not ones I've had saved but something I whipped up in response to your post just now.

The results are attached. It's not a system I'd consider further but I hope provides some confidence about the ability to get your application to a state where the results match or match enough.

All the best with getting on top of it and I'd encourage you to keep reaching out with concerns and questions until you feel like you are on top of it.

Hi Jason,

Thank you for your feedback.
Peter showed me a few things that I am applying wrong in GSB and the system I build since really does match in TS.
He said he will have a video out by today that will make things a lot clearer looking forward to watching it.

any update on this video, or could you explain what was being applied incorrectly? I am having similar issues with Multicharts and also do not understand the time zone thing :lol:

thanks for the quick response. to double-check my understanding, GSB supplied data is Central USA time, so if I wish to test a system built on this data in Multicharts I would need to set my computer to Central USA time and the chart to local time?

I had a freak situation with a dll upgrade on my cloud that caused sever miss-match. If the version of the worker is >56.18 and < 56.32 there is a problem. You cant use the system. 58.18 and versions 56.32 on-wards are fine. Please except my humble apologies, as its wasted a high amount of my time, + annoyance for some users. The problem has only occurred over the last approx 2 days.
