AlwaysLearning - 28-2-2024 at 05:44 PM

Hello, I hope I'm posting this in the right area,

But I wanted to ask if anyone could explain what I should do about 'unknown function' compiler errors.

The function blocking the compiler due to it missing a definition is called GSB_AdxFilter for example, and the most recent ELD I've seen to import is GSB_ALL_FUNCTIONS_2024_1_30

I'm unsure whether there is another ELD located somewhere that has these functions that I need to go and download, or whether I should just wait for a future update to automatically take care of it. I can wait until later, but wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong or missing something.

Thank you

admin - 28-2-2024 at 06:26 PM

@AlwaysLearning
I dont have this function. Ive asked programmer if its written yet
Will advise when i hear

admin - 28-2-2024 at 07:16 PM

@AlwaysLearning, This code has not been written yet in TS. Apologies but this filter should not have been released in this case. Often I push out new builds with new but hidden features, and they need to be tested to see if they a likely to help build better systems

admin - 6-3-2024 at 11:42 PM

orginal /optimization fitness %
this tests all wf fitness compared to the orginal fitness.

This is experimental and i short term dont have time to test how valid or useful it is
use random space 1000 iterations wf muti threaded +- 25% range

Let me know if any users want a copy

tommorow to beta testers 66.97
has eld for GSB_TWOXAVERAGECROSSFILTER
fix for day of week bug when some days are short and others long

admin - 22-3-2024 at 04:01 PM

next release will have bug fix thats been with GSB since day 1.
stop logic doesnt work on mark on close bar. (It was fine in ts)
other minor bug fixes in stop logic too.

admin - 25-3-2024 at 11:45 PM

next build
wf optimization profile

here is the same system with search space full (the max of all ranges allowed for each parameter in gsb. Note that the end results is both much lower and much higher. This implies that the final parameters of +-25% might still not be the optimal ones. Beware however that looking for the peak fitness as your only criteria for parameters is not a good idea.

I hope to have a later build that exports results to a csv file.
It would be good to map the top 1/3 of your say 300 systems, look at the profiles,
then compare to the botton 1/3 of your 300 systems.
Then change dates to be the years out of sample not seen, and see if there is any correlation to the curves. Ultimately we need to automate this... but before we do that we need a critera of what we want to see in a curve. This must be decided by the GSB user base

under testing 67.15
Has the new rego where you can label your machine in case you want to move license to a new machine. It means you know what license to revoke
has cleanup of unused files. Option on workers, to close if out of memory detected. GSB resource manger will open more workers when memory is available. (default option is exit if out of memory)

admin - 11-4-2024 at 01:25 AM

67.15x released
Has new rego where you the end user can label a machine. This is useful if you ever need to revoke a license and move it to a new machine, you now will know what one to revoke

67.151 throws the following error on my site: This application will not run from within a Terminal Services session. This is a physical server to which I am connected via RDP. Any tips?

admin - 12-4-2024 at 02:22 AM

IN roughly 2 weeks, we will have a new data base server for GSB.
The move will require a new build of GSB.exe files, so I can do a smooth transition.
The old server will run for quite some time so there is no urgency to upgrade.
New server will be a little faster, but all else will appear the same
Managers and workers will have to be updated.

I'm also increasing GSB cloud a bit. I Bought 3 machines with 512 GB of ram, 88 cores this week. They will replace older machines in the next couple of weeks
Peter

admin - 13-4-2024 at 01:48 AM

numerous users got issues with the updates of 67.151
I have pulled auto update to this build.
Basically dll's and a xml file were updated.
However if any manager or worker was not closed by GSB resource manger, then mismatch occured as files that are used are locked.
This either gives message about GSB wont run under terminal services, or returns an error code.
Im going to update GSB Resource manger to handle this issue.
Regardless there are numerous improvements in the next RM.
1) close workers when out of memory detected
2) closes workers when CLR error occurs (low operating system memory)
3) Run cloud workers (if enabled) much faster when your own workers are idle

Here are updated files. (this url will be deleted in about a week)
https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZ4zw80ZiCIQ9G4G4L51...
Files in this zip file must be unzipped, then over write all files in c:\gsb, c:\gsb\workers, c:\gsb cloud workers

TradingPrice - 18-4-2024 at 10:06 AM

@admin

The updated files are for machines with GSB 67.151 only?or 66.97 as well?

Speaking of RM :

I was thinking that it’d be great if we have a way to make RM close “idle” workers and open fresh ones say once daily
I think this would help with memory in general

admin - 18-4-2024 at 09:29 PM

@TP
The files should work on builds of GSB, but the update has been problematic because if a manger or worker is open when RM updates, the files are locked and you get miss-match in versions, which will cause failure to miss match fixed.

RM does that already, but much more often than once a day.
as soon as a job has ended, they are restarted.
On the subject of RM.
Is this of interest to anyone?
It will only work on supermicro servers that are not VM

Whats hopefully coming in GSB - not finished yet
Option to force data1, data2 etc on specific indicators or filters

admin - 26-4-2024 at 08:44 PM

likely 67.21 will be released on monday. Being tested now by beta testers

admin - 29-4-2024 at 01:44 AM

67.21 released
This hopefully will be the last update until we go on the new GSB data base server. It's a higher spec machine.
Old workers will NOT communicate with new managers.
I will give notice on this update, and might make it available only through an updated version of GSB resource manager. (to be released soon)

admin - 29-4-2024 at 09:19 PM

There is a major update to GSB coming out soon.
Major, not in features, but updates . .net version and DLL's and its on a new more powerful GSB data base server.
Currently the new server is working.

However to get the update, you will need to install new .net, and your computer will need a reboot.
It would be good for all users to install .net https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework...
before hand, so they can reboot at their leisure.

The update will only come by a new version of GSB resource manager.
The new RM also has improvements
Close workers with various exceptions that ultimately come from lack of ram or swap file memory
Power consumption for Supermicro servers (only)

Also being working on is stop entries. Many of us have wanted this for years.

admin - 9-5-2024 at 07:24 PM

The new GSB data base server is now online.
All users must update to the new GSB Resource manager to get the new GSB.
There will be no more GSB updates on the old GSB resource manager.
Download in the private forum
https://trademaid.info/forum/viewthread.php?tid=208#pid3239

GSB resource manager also has improvements and tweaks too.

There is a new installer, or for existing RM users you can unzip the zip file and over write all files in your gsb resource manger. Either option should work, but the zip file might be more prone to keep your existing settings.
Normally in c:\gsb\gsbResourseManager\

admin - 24-5-2024 at 02:08 AM

the first build with stop entry and limit entry is getting close. Currently its buggy.
This will be a work in progress as there are many types of stop entries to be added.
ie buy at closed(1) stop, but at opend(0) stop + atr, but at pivotpoints stop etc

admin - 27-5-2024 at 07:38 PM

Under testing
67.30 This has the new CL settings which I think work really well with good out of sample. Im not yet at system building stage but thing the current released settings are excellent. If anyone else who is a purchased user wants this build, let me know.

has code tidy up if day of week no used.
Bug fix for errors in exported PA files

After this build 67.34
Improvements in GSB communication with central data base
Increased manager-worker communication responsiveness.
Updated workers to pause systems upload if manager did not send am-alive update to DB for more than 5 minutes. The reason for this fix is workers can keep building systems when we have a force killed manager (not closed manager)
Updated SQL logic to wait less time before deleting idle/obsolete managers, workers, and systems.
updated workers logic to upload new systems faster

admin - 27-5-2024 at 08:22 PM

In the next week or so, I will push out a new build of GSB resource manger.
This has a very significant tweak.
In the old RM, workers are killed if they dont respond within 10 seconds of a request to terminate from RM (soft kill)
Workers rarely responded after 10 seconds, so most workers are hard killed.
This means the GSB data base still thinks the workers are active until it does its cleanup (an hour or so)

So if you send wf to workers that no longer exist, or limit managers to say 5 workers, when some dont exist.... then things are not running as well as they should be.

admin - 3-6-2024 at 01:00 AM

Under testing
77.42 Redundant indicators removed in secondary filters, like what has been done in filters

A fix for the repeated "System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an ob...
An update to help catch the repeated exception "System.ArgumentException: Path cannot be the empty..
Improved sending of systems from workers to GSB data base.
suppress "Week Days Positions" logic from writing to TS scripts when not needed

67.47 released to all users
has fix for wf stop at 99%
Has new indicators that I will do testing on before I release. Wilder atr and wilder range.
New ELD. Its likely not essential you load the new eld apart if you can cope with remarking out the new dummy date script.
Should you get any other errors, load the new eld, or if you dont know whats meant by the above comment, load the new script

admin - 14-6-2024 at 05:58 PM

Under testing
67.55
Has improved data base handling to increase manager responsiveness. This will need some more tweaking over time.
bug fixes
atr wilder will likely be released in the next build to purchased users with the extra indicators enabled.

admin - 17-6-2024 at 02:29 AM

In the pipeline, atr as a filter.

There has been significant upgrade of the GSB servers that run my personal cloud, and then donate to the public cloud if free.
I have been running peaks of 330 workers at one time.
This however has caused the upgraded data base to not cope with all of its tasks. We are working on this the last few days, and likely much of the next week.
Unfortunately when the data base does get overloaded, and will cause exceptions saying there are connection errors.
Apologies while we sort this out

admin - 18-6-2024 at 07:48 PM

pushing out to all users in the next day or so,
67.57
Has significant improvement in GSB data base. Not every issue fixed but collective improvement of issues that I can run 330 workers with no issues.
New CL settings, but docs for this are not far away. Delayed as I had data base issues that stopped me running GSB so hard.
macro name is nct3-300_build_cl_p0.80_pf1.2+stats_is2018.2_oos2023.03-Fast300-FavE202303_20240515b.gsbmacro
date file starts at 8am now, not 9am. But 9am is fine to use.
cl.1.minute.2007_20240515-tick-800-1430exchangeTime.txt

Likely new eld too.

admin - 18-6-2024 at 08:21 PM

67.59 released, with new cl data file (optional 8am start - not critical), new macro, settings files
CL15-900-1430-W.ShortTueLngShort.NewDatesV1.1.gsboptset
nct3-300_build_cl_p0.80_pf1.2+stats_is2018.2_oos2023.03-Fast300-FavE202303_20240515b.macro

Big picture summary of what will be in the excel summary (yet to be finalized by me)
15 minutes data1, or 20 minutes data1 or 15/30 minutes data1,data2 are best
WedLongSHort, WedLongShort + Tue Short are valid, but WedLS+TueSht I think is best
There are numerous Secondary filters that work well
CloseLessPrevCloseDBPV, aveRangeWIlder, slowk, various atrs are best (wilderatr, wilderRange, atr)
All we care about in these tests is the Fitness Np/dd in Fav F and the next out of sample period StatsE. Im adding these both together to decide highest result. IE see cell j57 in this excel tab
Note however that sometimes a system goes much better in one out of sample period than another
Period F is 2018 march 01 to 2023 feb 28
Period E is 2023 march 01 to 2024 may 15 (end of data file)

admin - 21-6-2024 at 01:50 AM

under testing soon
67.65
Has more GSB data base speed improvements
Some extra hidden features under testing
Data base performance very significantly improved in the last build, but plenty more room to improve.

admin - 25-6-2024 at 08:14 PM

Last week, collectively we hit the highest programing hours in GSB that we have had for years. However much of this is back end data base work.
Here is whats coming soon
Adjustable parameters for filters
improved database handling of walk forward jobs.

Whats hopefully a little after this is, major re-write of how data base works.
What this will mean is improved worker performance, but new managers will NOT work with old workers
SO if you have a unfinished job in GSB automation running, set this to false closer to the time.
I will give plenty of warning about this.

2024-06-26_12-11-56.png - 155kB

admin - 27-6-2024 at 07:35 PM

A lot of work continues to go into GSB back end data base.
Big re-write of logic, and much of the logic not in the data base is self, to give big speed improvements.

An issue thats been with GSB from day 1, is if you have 30 workers running, only 10 might run. This doesn't matter greatly as if your CPU is not maxed out, GSB resource manager will just open more.
However this issue seems dramatically improved, perhaps 100% fixed in 67.72 onwards.
What this means is your limit of how many workers in GSB resource manager should be reduced, as well as amount of workers you start on the group startup.
on a 72 core machine, im getting cpu maxed out with 8 workers. Im not sure the number in previous builds, and it could be related to the settings im running, but it used to be higher than this.
This however is good and in perfect world, one worker would max out your entire machine. (this will never happen with GSB due to ram cache being used)
However another factor is that windows server 2022 works better than server 2019. The context of this is a machine with dual CPU's. Its an operating system limitation, but most apps cant span >1 cpu. I suspect server 2022 swaps what physical CPU an app is on, if the other cpu is not as busy.
If you have one physical CPU, i think the OS version will not make any difference. (small chance it will for users with > 32 cpu cores)
(the exception is windows11, prioritizes front apps much more than back ground apps, so is much slower at running workers unless GSB resource manager is in tiled mode)

66.90 to be pushed out in < 24 hours
old managers wont talk to new workers, so if you are running a job in automation, then turn update gsb too off, or ask me for the url of the update
new eld included.
This is the release build of the new faster backed end of the data base + bug fixes
Updates to GSB resource manager with numerous refinements also out soon

admin - 5-7-2024 at 05:42 PM

67.90 released

admin - 19-7-2024 at 02:09 AM

one or two builds away, I will release a lot more indicators. I think the best indicators have been already moved from beta tester mode to GSB purchasers.
However there are a lot of unreleased indicators, and I think overall they are good.

admin - 26-7-2024 at 08:21 PM

66.99 should be released to beta testers. Old versions of managers will not talk to the new versions (my cloud)
When the update is released to all users, if your manager is not updated, the old managers will not talk to your workers. Minor pain for those running GSB automation jobs at the time.
I will give notice again when im pushing the build
It has numerous bug fixes, including some ts <> gsb in results, and some new indicator variants Im testing.
If anyone wants the builder earlier, email me.
there will be new ELD with it too

admin - 29-7-2024 at 09:48 PM

67.90 released to beta testers.
a few hours after the USA market close, it will be released via GSB resource manager to all other users
If anyone needs a copy earilier, so they dont loose access to my cloud (when free) let me know
Im currently using all my cloud workers, but that comes and goes over time

admin - 15-8-2024 at 02:57 AM

68.08 released to beta testers
Bug fix where some secondary filters not work via gsb automation
new macro feature where you can reset say favoriteA to zero, older versions could only reset all favorites to zero. It means you can make a macro say, reset favorites A, goto fav B, dates to all, create family, send members of family to favorites A, minor bug fixes

admin - 20-8-2024 at 12:03 AM

68.07 release today to all users.
Rougly 2 builds away, about 5 more inidcators that are new, and Im confident are good ones. They will be released to all users with purchased users permission and above. (your not required to be in beta tester mode)

admin - 29-8-2024 at 10:07 PM

next build, updates for Ninja trader users

admin - 1-9-2024 at 08:17 PM

68.12 released to beta testers
Bug fix fox wrong exits when no secondary filter used.
Fix for updates to Ninja trader platform. New NT code supplied.
Disable NT indicators that dont match

admin - 4-9-2024 at 08:12 PM

68.12 pushed for all users yesterday

67.24 being pushed out to all users.
this has improved sql server (database) efficiency.

admin - 28-9-2024 at 04:57 AM

forgot to mention.
New build has remove duplicate indicators set to true by default. It was false on the last build. The gives the appearance of a few less indicators, but in practice will have the same amount of indicators with duplicate removed which will give greater efficiency.
Also has x axis (time) in systems /graph building increasing when systems are still on zero. This makes it more clear how many minutes occurs before systems start coming.

admin - 19-11-2024 at 12:18 AM

next build of GSB
monte carlo wf.
Example here only 100 tests done (not a lot) but you can see many wf gave better improvements and many poorer - which is fine.
what would not be fine is if most would give much worse results
This test was also good as paramater range was +- 100% which is very wide.

also 2 new indicators for me to test and release if I feel they work well

There is more work to be done on refining the validation groups before I release the next build of GSB

admin - 22-11-2024 at 02:23 AM

@carl,
thank you, there was an issue on my side.
try now

if your in a hurry closes workers, open rm

admin - 2-12-2024 at 11:03 PM

This situation reminds me of when i was at a camp, and was showing the audience the flying tea bag trick. (light a empty tea bag with a match)
People were in hysterics, not laughing with me - but at me. It failed terribly and turns out only some brands of tea bags fly.
Well the montecarlo SR ration has a significant effect to predict out of sample results, as does verification.
However lowSR gives the best out of sample results, not high sr. No idea why and this may take some time to work out

what was done here
build 2500 systems using 1 pass indicator (not 2 pass method) - as i wanted a significant amount of systems that failed. However the setup nq short only was so good, even the bad systems were pretty good

get the top 300 systems (by macro) then do family mode to make only unique systems. We now have 233 systems

verify systems with 5,10,15,20,25,35,40,450,55,60 minute data and look only at the vss score of all the verification totaled together. result (ie -20% degradation is good, result like -70% is bad) (ignore exact figures)

then do mc wf (singled thread fastest with cpu cores for wf set to the amount of cpu cores we have)
take lowest 70 systems mc sr ratio in fav A, top 70 systems mc sr ratio in fav B
Do stats a, stats b

then take lowest 30 systems vss score (this is bad) of the worst 70 mc score, and compare to the highest vss score (this is good) of the top 35 of the 70 systems

bottom line, big difference in results between the two tests, and greater difference when we apply both filters

build 68.56 or later is needed to do this. I will release it soon

68.57 released
has mc wf for for all users, mc sharp ratio

admin - 3-12-2024 at 11:27 PM

im feeling better about mc sr.
note the worse mc sr and best mc sr
low mc sr has move of the curves above zero

mc 1000 interations and verification gave a whopping 44% increase in out of sample fitness of the worse vss and worse mc sr vs best vss and best mc sror
or 36 % of the bottom mc sr figure (vss ignored) compared to the top 70 mc sr and the top 50% vss of those systems
36% derived from (27164-20179)/20179

GSB has a warning that code is too old. I hope to get a fix for this today.
Apologies but it fell through the cracks. Ive been on holiday but back in about 30 hours time

admin - 10-12-2024 at 06:16 PM

I have the updated GSB code, but my digital signing of files is busted.
If I push out the files not digitally signed, a significant number of users will have their GSB.exe files falsely detected as virus.
Im working on the fix but this is much harder being remote.
I recommend that if you are in a hurry that you exclude c:\gsb c:\gsb\workers c:\gsb\cloud workers from your anti virus
and unzip these files into these folders
apologies for the inconvenience

Attachment: Login to view the details

admin - 11-12-2024 at 03:36 AM

68.51 pushed. Has digital sign of exe files so no virus issues.
In about 2 builds, im hoping to have cloud worker support of monte carlo sr ratio (with out all the lines)
Not possible to do all the equity lines via workers as to load 500 or so equity curves back into the manager will be slower than doing the mc wf locally

Next build I hope to have other monte carlo ranking algorithims, and MC wf going to the cloud less graphs.
Im busy now rebuilding the trial user installer and settings as its busted right now.
Big task as many supplied market settings are out of date

EWFO will also have mc wf metrics too in next release.
Have a good weekend all

68.64 pushed to beta testers
Significant change to lots of things in Walk forward. Monte carlo wf metrics (but not all the lines) are now done on all WF, and can be done via cloud workers
Numerous MC wf metrics, that I still need to test which ones work best.

Wishing you all a great Christmas and new year.
Its been a good year in trading profits and GSB development - with the compounding effect of positive returns starting to feel like its kicking in more.

currently we are working on mean reversion systems on NQ market. The GSB side has been done, but working on the TS side. This is more complex as in gsb ts functions, we are artificially making daily bars from intra day data

admin - 24-1-2025 at 12:51 AM

coming next week to alpha testers.
68.73
Fixed cloud WF logic to auto restart WFs canceled on the worker's side (ex. worker canceled or closed).
A minor update check logic to use database more often. A minor update to GA logic to improve performance (reduced Unnecessary RAM and disk).
allow exit mode Secondary filter reverse for all uses. This is VIP for the soon to be released NQ day of week settings (already given to a few users)
it was VIP for these new settings (till this build) that you have beta tester options enabled (see private forum)
This is now not needed for 68.73

GSB resource manager. Im hoping to have a fix for windows 11 running GSB workers (and all back ground apps) at low CPU priority.
also ability to use .7zip format for downloads. - compression is much better which is good if I ever send 1 minute data files

More improvements to stop TS crashing when RDP connects. These are being tested now

admin - 29-1-2025 at 06:06 PM

released 68.70 to beta testers
has new eld
rsi secondary filter (derived daily bars from intra day data) used for mean reversion settings
has latest nq long dow swing settings and no need to be in beta tester mode to get the much needed sfRev Exit
has data files es nq gc used, but doesnt not have contracts.txt and sessions.txt as I dont want to over write gsb users with my settings. This doesnt matter except for gold that needed 130?? to 1330 session time
has the CL dow settings and data too
minor bug fixes
WFS (WF) curves turned off by default. (tick box on wf gui)
exit mode sfRf for all users, not just trial users

Hi Peter,

Thanks for all your work!

Just tried to update GSB by using the resourcemanager.
This is the message I get:

The remote server returned an error: (550) File not available (e.g. file not found, file cannot be accessed).

Thanks

admin - 31-1-2025 at 09:53 PM

Anyone else with this issue?
Otherwise Carl, email me your monday morning and we can do remote session.
I assume your on a 2024 build of RM?

Carl - 1-2-2025 at 12:37 AM

Hi Peter,

I just woke up and tried again.
The download was successful now, so problem solved.

I am on RM 20240530.1

Thanks.

build 68.80 has the fix for busted exports. Pushed to all users

tialt - 14-2-2025 at 07:07 AM

i'm running 68.80 & still getting the error 14 (IPM)

admin - 14-2-2025 at 05:00 PM

@Tialt, thats because you have miss-match of dll versions
I will send you an email

admin - 3-3-2025 at 07:10 PM

68.84 released. It has DailyRSI, updated NQ data as the last nq data caused GSB <> TS to a mild degree.
Bug fix for custom fitness not working correctly.

admin - 4-3-2025 at 12:25 AM

68.87 (not released yet) has a macro to save systems. (last macro in the list)
I didnt write down who the specific user was who wanted this, so if its you let me know.

admin - 21-3-2025 at 01:10 AM

next release of GSB, macro to save all systems in .csv file.
Recommend you use the family command first to remove duplicates
File will be in C:\GSB\Data\Exports\Systems

68.80 released to all users.
Next build after this has small bug fixes.

admin - 4-4-2025 at 12:23 AM

Update for the week. Hoping in time to make some very significant expansion to GSB system architecture. I will keep you informed when this goes from concept to product to test.
Also have done a lot of work on using vwap in existing systems. One user (forgot who) said they had good success on GSBsys1NQ. If anyone has success let me know.
There are numerous variants of Vwap, and ways to use it, so a lot of time could be spent experimenting on this.

admin - 2-5-2025 at 02:20 AM

GSB.68.910
bug fix and updated expiry code.

Have been doing a lot of research on other normalization modes. Extremely time consuming to do, but hope to have some idea how they work next week.

admin - 8-5-2025 at 10:39 PM

i have all but 3 of the new normalzation modes working. Initial testing showed its going to be hard to beat centerscaling2 and highlowest2. But I will know more in 24 hours or so. The new modes have been added into GSB automation next release.

Also working on buy/ sell entry stop. I expect this to be good on NQ and gold markets. Initial testing showed it worked well on NQ, but GSB TS code results are miles out - so this has to be fixed to confirm

admin - 15-5-2025 at 10:45 PM

Ive had very good success with the default NQ day trading settings, with new features of entering on stop of highest (high,x)
I also felt that the current default normalization mode Centerscaling2 (followed by second the best method highesthigh2 was the best.
However when I look at further out of sample results 20141112 to 20150515 other methods have done very well. Results include $5000 profit target as I dont want the $30,000+ trades of 10th of april to allow GSB to curve fit to this day.
Enclosed is an example of one system I picked, that had superb out of sample results.
Many but not all systems did well on the Trump tariff era of feb march 2025 which hammered many - but not all systems. If you look in excel, period G result is np/dd of 2024111 to 20150415. 28 trades were typical, so np/dd of 2 over this period is acceptable, esp when you consider any 30,000 wins are removed by the 5k pt.
In excel what we care about is the f medium result and the amount of systems in Favorites D. (all of this done by GSB automation)
I will push this build in about a weeks time. If anyone wants to pre-test it, it may be ready this Tuesday

Build 69.26 is almost ready for release. Just need to make the config files with new NQ settings.
Will be out early next week.
There will be new gsb automation with new features for the new GSB, and new gsb automation spread sheet.
4 new normalization modes are in gsb and buy stop highest high, buy limit lowest low etc (+ inverse for shorts)

admin - 27-5-2025 at 11:26 PM

69.28 will be released soon to beta testers, and soon to all users. A fairly significant update.
Has the 5 normalization modes. Warning my testing show using them all at once will reduce overall out of sample performance, and be significantly slower due to cache efficiency

new nq settings and data file is called "nq-800-1500_30minBars_75i-Long&ShortDayTrade-sysBuild_EtypeMultStop2+2008_20250515-AICWeights.gsboptset"

macros unchanged. nct3-300_build_gc_p0.90_pf1.6+stats_is2018.2_oos202411-Fast300B.gsbmacro
and greenMax10Min10.gsbmacro

new eld's supplied
supports new entry type AICW Any indicator crossed with weights.. Stand AIC has hard coded weights so we cross at zero mark

Has stop entry, ie buy at highest(high,10)+x stop and limit entry etc.
Suspect stop entry good for gold, but not tried it. its good for NQ

admin - 6-6-2025 at 12:06 AM

Here are some nq result using various entry types. More are being added. Whats clear is buy at highest(high,x) is much better than buy at market.
what we care about is F results, systems in Fav BCD, and G result (next out of sample period)

2025-06-06_16-02-13c.png - 1.2MB

admin - 12-6-2025 at 12:32 AM

Released 69.36
implemented limit/stop @ CloseD(1), LowD(1), and HighD(1) and pivot orders
Stronly recommend to test these one at a time, not turn them all on at once. Most will be useless but on NQ and GC one was clearly the best (different for each market)
added WF parameters (besides opt. parameters) to the Parameters tab, as a combo-bo
small cache improvement

admin - 20-6-2025 at 12:33 AM

A very successful week building systems, and continuing to add more pivot entry types.
I worked methodically on the original gold settings using GSB automation, and got significant improvement. (The old settings were not great)
Then, an accident. changed one setting I should not have, - and no idea how I did that. Pure human error. Very significant improvement....

then a long time user who got my second gold system, sent it back but changing data1 to silver. Zero changes in settings, but zero slippage used here.

also, a trial user who I gave GC settings to came up with this. Perfect wf were oos, in sample and original system results all identical

Next build being tested for bugs, and still waiting on my entry types

You can also see on my first 2 gold systems, low correlation looking at the charts

There are now 57 pivot type of entries if you include the stop / vs limit as a different type.

The Increase in out of sample median has increased on gold systems by 42% compared to earlier build of GSB.
The amount of systems in Favorites D has over doubled!

One of the newer entry types (not shown) is even better. Still doing more tests.

Other markets also confirmed the same thing.
Very exciting developments.
Very early days yet, but Gold systems out of sample is good. I will update you when im ready to release the build. Not to far away I hope.

69.53 released. This is a major jump in out of sample performance to earlier builds of GSB
Included natural gas and gold day trading systems settings
to have a quick play, use the 40% in sample settings. To build systems use the sys build settings
IE NG_20250611_SysBuild
GC_20250611_SysBuild.PivotCamarillaStop2

GC_20250611_40%InSample.60-120Xmin.PivotCamarillaStop2
NG_20250611_40%InSample

New eld included

Fadeout - 6-7-2025 at 03:25 PM

Not able to load GC Optimization setting :-)

admin - 6-7-2025 at 04:33 PM

Hi Fadeout
im keen to help you, but a message like you posted doesnt have enough info.
what build of GSB are you on? Do you have GSB resource manager running?
what was the error message(s)
did you try both gc settings and the ng settings?
Worst case we can do ultraviewer.net session

Fadeout - 8-7-2025 at 09:38 AM

Naturally :-)
Using latest - 69.53.
I have tried the NG settings, and with some sucess :-)

When trying to load the GC_20250611_SysBuild... , it wil not load into GSB. No error message.

I am on holiday for 11 days from tomorrow, but if no one else reports same problem, we may look at it together later.

Carl - 8-7-2025 at 03:32 PM

Hi,
I loaded both gsboptset files (GC and NG) into GSB 69.53. No issues here.

admin - 8-7-2025 at 04:50 PM

Hi Fadeout,
I am aware of one issue, in that 4 entrymodes are enabled for one user, and i have a good idea why. Will look at that soon. For NG and GC, only compare2 entry mode should be used. To get good results this is vip.
However thats not your issue.
are you on the beta settings? Again I dont expect that to be the cause, but its a small chance

I tried to load GC_20250611_SysBuild.PivotCamarillaStop2 unsuccessfully, everything else loaded successfully

admin - 9-7-2025 at 02:16 AM

Hi Jozef, can i look at this via ultraviewer.net. any time from 15 hours from now onwards

admin - 11-7-2025 at 12:36 AM

Another significant week of development
Next release (not this week)
CL day trade settings update. Just as with nat gas and gold, new GSB has very significant increase in out of sample results.

The devil is in the details
I had a long term user amazed at the improvement of one setting. The secondary filter for stocks / indices has to be non ga/non normalized) closelessclosedBPV
and for energies it has to be normalized (ga) closelessclosedBPV
what i was not aware of is the filter (if used) closelessclosedBPV is NOT normalized.
Next build we will have the normalized option as well.

This means you can combine a closelessClosedBPC and other secondary filters of your choice.

We have had for many years the option of data1, data2 etc.
Here is the problem. We could build using data2, and wrongly think results have improved. Problem is results always vary significantly from one run to another, thats not bad and is documented elsewhere.
However your systems may never have even used data2. This can actually be seen in gsb automation spread sheet stats.
However we now have the option to only allow systems that use multiple data streams. Any that dont are never even tested.
That way we now are sure we can see the effect of having at least one indicator have data2.

cico - 11-7-2025 at 04:19 AM

Hi Peter,
and is anywhere, please, summarized what is the actual methodology for which commodity or it is more just about macros? Thanks.

Good question
if the work is all done, and for cl ng gc,nq it is
just load the settings, and do the two pass method.
first pass gets the top 10 inidcators (will vary somewhat each time its done) green10 macro

second pass builds systems with these indicators. (macro2 normally)
this puts systems in favourites a,b,c,d etc
then i change date of all systems in favD to all
then run the favourites command (we want no duplicate systems)
then look for high np/dd and high pearsons
then walk forward these systems.

this entire process may be repeated as results will vary significantly each time due to the massive amount of combinations

if you doing a new market... much more work and more complex
thats all under methodology
when i publish the next gsb automation spreadsheet on gc,ng,cl you will see the sorts of things ive tried

brk - 17-7-2025 at 11:29 AM

I'm finally getting back in and building systems. I finally found (some of) the optimization files, and when I load the macros I'm seeing strangeness. Overall, things are working but when macro 2 is run, it gets down to StartBuildingSystems which it does, however while its still building (after 100 or so systems), it continues down the macros when the systems haven't all been built. It seems to do this every time for me (in the macro). So now I need to run the macro full through, edit it to move the "StartBuildingSystems" to the bottom and re-run it to get all the favorites and stats to apply to all the systems (not just the 100 or so when the macro continued before the systems were done).

So how can I get the macro to wait until all the systems are built before continuing? I did bump up the MaxUniqSystems to 5000.
