Hello, I hope I'm posting this in the right area,

But I wanted to ask if anyone could explain what I should do about 'unknown function' compiler errors.

The function blocking the compiler due to it missing a definition is called GSB_AdxFilter for example, and the most recent ELD I've seen to import is GSB_ALL_FUNCTIONS_2024_1_30

I'm unsure whether there is another ELD located somewhere that has these functions that I need to go and download, or whether I should just wait for a future update to automatically take care of it. I can wait until later, but wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong or missing something.

Thank you

@AlwaysLearning, This code has not been written yet in TS. Apologies but this filter should not have been released in this case. Often I push out new builds with new but hidden features, and they need to be tested to see if they a likely to help build better systems

this tests all wf fitness compared to the orginal fitness.

This is experimental and i short term dont have time to test how valid or useful it is
use random space 1000 iterations wf muti threaded +- 25% range

Let me know if any users want a copy

next build
wf optimization profile

here is the same system with search space full (the max of all ranges allowed for each parameter in gsb. Note that the end results is both much lower and much higher. This implies that the final parameters of +-25% might still not be the optimal ones. Beware however that looking for the peak fitness as your only criteria for parameters is not a good idea.

I hope to have a later build that exports results to a csv file.
It would be good to map the top 1/3 of your say 300 systems, look at the profiles,
then compare to the botton 1/3 of your 300 systems.
Then change dates to be the years out of sample not seen, and see if there is any correlation to the curves. Ultimately we need to automate this... but before we do that we need a critera of what we want to see in a curve. This must be decided by the GSB user base

under testing 67.15
Has the new rego where you can label your machine in case you want to move license to a new machine. It means you know what license to revoke
has cleanup of unused files. Option on workers, to close if out of memory detected. GSB resource manger will open more workers when memory is available. (default option is exit if out of memory)

67.15x released
Has new rego where you the end user can label a machine. This is useful if you ever need to revoke a license and move it to a new machine, you now will know what one to revoke

67.151 throws the following error on my site: This application will not run from within a Terminal Services session. This is a physical server to which I am connected via RDP. Any tips?

IN roughly 2 weeks, we will have a new data base server for GSB.
The move will require a new build of GSB.exe files, so I can do a smooth transition.
The old server will run for quite some time so there is no urgency to upgrade.
New server will be a little faster, but all else will appear the same
Managers and workers will have to be updated.

I'm also increasing GSB cloud a bit. I Bought 3 machines with 512 GB of ram, 88 cores this week. They will replace older machines in the next couple of weeks

numerous users got issues with the updates of 67.151
I have pulled auto update to this build.
Basically dll's and a xml file were updated.
However if any manager or worker was not closed by GSB resource manger, then mismatch occured as files that are used are locked.
This either gives message about GSB wont run under terminal services, or returns an error code.
Im going to update GSB Resource manger to handle this issue.
Regardless there are numerous improvements in the next RM.
1) close workers when out of memory detected
2) closes workers when CLR error occurs (low operating system memory)
3) Run cloud workers (if enabled) much faster when your own workers are idle

Here are updated files. (this url will be deleted in about a week)
https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZ4zw80ZiCIQ9G4G4L51...
Files in this zip file must be unzipped, then over write all files in c:\gsb, c:\gsb\workers, c:\gsb cloud workers

@admin

The updated files are for machines with GSB 67.151 only?or 66.97 as well?

Speaking of RM :

I was thinking that it’d be great if we have a way to make RM close “idle” workers and open fresh ones say once daily
I think this would help with memory in general

@TP
The files should work on builds of GSB, but the update has been problematic because if a manger or worker is open when RM updates, the files are locked and you get miss-match in versions, which will cause failure to miss match fixed.

RM does that already, but much more often than once a day.
as soon as a job has ended, they are restarted.
On the subject of RM.
Is this of interest to anyone?
It will only work on supermicro servers that are not VM

Whats hopefully coming in GSB - not finished yet
Option to force data1, data2 etc on specific indicators or filters

67.21 released to beta testers
has option to use datax on any indicator IE data2 and force it to only use data2
this feature is not at all tested, and may have minor compatibility issues with future build if we allow it say to have data2 or data3

67.21 released
This hopefully will be the last update until we go on the new GSB data base server. It's a higher spec machine.
Old workers will NOT communicate with new managers.
I will give notice on this update, and might make it available only through an updated version of GSB resource manager. (to be released soon)

There is a major update to GSB coming out soon.
Major, not in features, but updates . .net version and DLL's and its on a new more powerful GSB data base server.
Currently the new server is working.

However to get the update, you will need to install new .net, and your computer will need a reboot.
It would be good for all users to install .net https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet-framework...
before hand, so they can reboot at their leisure.

The update will only come by a new version of GSB resource manager.
The new RM also has improvements
Close workers with various exceptions that ultimately come from lack of ram or swap file memory
Power consumption for Supermicro servers (only)

Also being working on is stop entries. Many of us have wanted this for years.

The new GSB data base server is now online.
All users must update to the new GSB Resource manager to get the new GSB.
There will be no more GSB updates on the old GSB resource manager.
Download in the private forum
https://trademaid.info/forum/viewthread.php?tid=208#pid3239

GSB resource manager also has improvements and tweaks too.

There is a new installer, or for existing RM users you can unzip the zip file and over write all files in your gsb resource manger. Either option should work, but the zip file might be more prone to keep your existing settings.
Normally in c:\gsb\gsbResourseManager\

the first build with stop entry and limit entry is getting close. Currently its buggy.
This will be a work in progress as there are many types of stop entries to be added.
ie buy at closed(1) stop, but at opend(0) stop + atr, but at pivotpoints stop etc

Under testing
67.30 This has the new CL settings which I think work really well with good out of sample. Im not yet at system building stage but thing the current released settings are excellent. If anyone else who is a purchased user wants this build, let me know.

has code tidy up if day of week no used.
Bug fix for errors in exported PA files

After this build 67.34
Improvements in GSB communication with central data base
Increased manager-worker communication responsiveness.
Updated workers to pause systems upload if manager did not send am-alive update to DB for more than 5 minutes. The reason for this fix is workers can keep building systems when we have a force killed manager (not closed manager)
Updated SQL logic to wait less time before deleting idle/obsolete managers, workers, and systems.
updated workers logic to upload new systems faster

In the next week or so, I will push out a new build of GSB resource manger.
This has a very significant tweak.
In the old RM, workers are killed if they dont respond within 10 seconds of a request to terminate from RM (soft kill)
Workers rarely responded after 10 seconds, so most workers are hard killed.
This means the GSB data base still thinks the workers are active until it does its cleanup (an hour or so)

So if you send wf to workers that no longer exist, or limit managers to say 5 workers, when some dont exist.... then things are not running as well as they should be.
