Futures and forex trading contains substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could
potentially lose all or more than the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without
jeopardizing ones’ financial security or life style. Only risk capital should be used for trading and only
those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of
future results

@peter, yes thank you..

When i launched PA as usual, i did not get the update, but when i launched it as administrator, i got the update directly, so that was the issue, and perhaps might help other that have an issue.

sorry but pa pro code has expired today. A new version should be released via auto update < 24 hours.
It has new command line features, but im not sure if these were documented. I found them really useful, but there was not a lot of interest in them last time I asked

TradeStationUtilsRC7b.dll

Could you please share this (searched the hard drive but nothing...)?

Here is the file,
im not sure why you have the error as others are not complaining.
Perhaps most people are not use the pa ts exporter.
The path required likely will be in this eld

Please confirm this fixes it

Thanks Peter,

I actually have issues with both versions of this file. The one without DLL fails File Append function. So i DEcided to try the DLL version (but didn't have DLL file.)
Currently It stopped asking for the DLL (I placed it in C/Windows/System), but the issue with FileAppend persists in both PA strategy files.

Note: I corrected the path in EL code to: "vars:fname("c:\Program Files (x86)\Portfolio Analyst Pro\data\"+Sysname);" - Adding the "Pro"

Old version of PA pro expired today and will not work.
To fix run the file as windows adminstrator and allow it to update

Very very old versions may not give you that option, I will research it if anyone reports an issue.
The update method changed in the last year or so where all files were put into a zip file to make the update faster.
This update method updates to papro PortfolioAnalyst.20220607.1
If your on a very old version, likely downloading these files, put into pa pro folder will also fix it.

After yesterdays latest update on TS, i can only save .xlsx or .csv format from the performance report. I cant get it to work with PA pro. Anyone know why this TS update removed the XML format ? Or how to make it work anyway.

thanks

@swedentrader, I dont know- would post on ts forum
There is a strategy you can add portfololanylistsv1.1 to a chart, and it will export
Just watch out, there are two variant of this file and one has the wrong path (folder may not exist)
if its wrong, you can correct the path in the eld.
Or you can use ts 9.5 with xml

ISSUES ON THE MOST RECENT BUILD OF TS 10 WITH PA PRO
Ts removed xml export on the last build of ts 10 :(
This means you can only use portfolioAnalyst1.x exporter
see C:\Program Files (x86)\Portfolio Analyst Pro\TradestationCode
or you need to go back to prev build of ts 10
or use 9.5
Its documented that in my opinion, there was zero reason to go to ts 10, and many reasons to avoid it.
Basically for the first year or so, feedback on ts 10 was damming. Unstable.
Now I hear less which is a good sign
The only think I personally want out of ts is 64 bit os, which will not happen in version 10

Please complain here
https://community.tradestation.com/Discussions/Topic.aspx?To...

The portfolioAnalyst1.x exporter doesnt support pyramiding
To do this, we need a exported trade list that does
trade#1 entry
trade#1 exit

trade#2 entry
trade#2 exit

current pa export exports in time sequence. This will not work

ie
trade#1 entry
trade#2 entry
trade#1 exit
trade#2 exit

I am unable to do the revised format, so if any one knows, then help appreciated.

@upendramaris
edit the pa eld, and make sure the path goes to a folder that exists.
it should be aprox line 7
vars:fname("C:\Program Files (x86)\Portfolio Analyst Pro\data\"+Sysname);
Check the windows permisions on the folder are rw for all users

edit the eld, and look at the path used for the dll
Put the dll in that location.
dll likely is on your papro folder
later versions of the eld did not use the dll for these sorts of reasons, though the dll is a bit faster

next build of pa has the ability to trade ( and not trade) certain dates. IE fed interest rates
So what we want to see is the equity curve of your entire portfolio on those days to determine if they should be traded.
This is currently working on my not released build, but I want to enhance the power of this significantly. Not sure if it can/will be be done yet.

We now have the ability of choosing only trades on certain news dates, to know if we should excluded them
Still one more feature to go before release.

Hi Peter, nice feature, but how about historical events. Did you manage them too, because I suppose not all events happen on regular date intervals.
