No systems being generated
Hi there
I am a total noob at using GSB and have tried setting up my system according to the user instructions which are quite confusing.
I set up the first set of parameters as directed in the user instructions however no systems are being generated. I'm wondering whether this is a
normal occurrence or whether I might have missed something.
I am attaching 3 images of how I have set up my first run.
Would appreciate if experienced users could assess and comment if I've made an error somewhere.
Thanks and much appreciated.
TD

Hi Traderdoc,
I noticed your fitness figure (window on the right side) is extremely high.
There might be an issue with the settings in your contract list? Did you change anything here?

Assuming you have the contract settings correct, I'd suggest you drop to commissions and slippage until you get builds happening. Also open up your
training and test settings, ie. (test) Min. trades count = 20, (test) Min. Pearsons = .9. Also Optimization switch the ratios around 60% training 40%
test. Once you have builds happening then you can refine your settings and measure the impact they have.

You have the wrong secondary filter and too high slippage and commision for this early in the build process
To build good systems, its critical to get the secondary filter correct.
You have closedminusclose, not GA with closedbpv and or ga with closed/closed
see https://trademaid.info/gsbhelp/Secondary-FilterMode1.html
However get this wrong, and you will still be able to build systems, just not good ones.
Couple this with your too high cost figures may itself be the problem.
You are in effect using $45 round turn. Costs are important to factor in, but I do this much later in the build process
slippage on cl should be about $20 round turn.
The help file is totally up to date, in fact uptodate with the beta version, not the trial version.
If your still stuck, then its best you give me teamviewer.com details, so I can look.
You also should use the manager to get much more cpu power from the GSB cloud.
also run as many workers as ram and cpu permit.
Manager does take a few more minutes to talk to all the workers
This info should be posted here
https://trademaid.info/forum/viewthread.php?tid=229
That way other users and I get an email as soon as you post something.
