Next build (next week likely) has data base to replace dropbox for client server use, + a few bug fixes.

jptann - 15-1-2018 at 04:58 PM

Peter, I just discovered a new bug on your latest release. Release 1.0.42.15 when I copy a TS strategy to the clipboard and then transfer it to TS, when I go to verify the strategy, the program code at line number 60, the statement endDate(21001231) Does not have a ; (semi-column) after it. You need to add this for it to verify. It happens on all the strategies

Thanks for the update. It will be fixed in .18 build.
Will upload shortly. Has one other bug fix where saved comments are not in wf ts code, but are in non wf ts code.

New feature in 43.02 (not released yet)
We dont want to save systems that are useless. This is also needed to keep the load on the database down. (GSB cloud)
Feel free to increase there settings.
GSB sharing files in dropbox is now redundant as all GSB will talk to the database
Dropbox is slow and not always reliable.By default all machines on your lan and ip will automatically talk to GSB workers.

I'm very exited about this database in the new release.
But I wonder what the "database" actually is. Do we need a SQL server, or will the Manager be the database?

Regards,
Peter Gunnarsson

Is it a SQL server, a file based database like Access mdb file, or a cloud based database of some sort?

Regards,
Peter Gunnarsson

Im very excited too. In fact excessively excited so my mind wont shut down when it should. Its SQL server.
You can put your comments here as well. This has big postive implications for all GSB users

43.02 is ready for a few people to test. Please contact me if your interested.
Who should apply? Those who want much more GSB power, and or are willing to let other GSB users use there spare GSB power
Its a bit rushed, but here is the doc's on GSB cloud for 43.02

43.10 will be released in about 12 hours if it passes testing from the few testers I gave it too.
You can use a public GSB cloud worker. The more people who donate there spare CPU time, the bigger this pool of Cloud computers gets.
I have bought a dual xeon server with 192 GB of ram for this purpose.
I'm also toying with the idea that WF can be passed to workers inc cloud workers.

admin - 2-2-2018 at 02:51 PM

This is how you set a worker to be used by the GSB community. You can also schedule the time the worker is free, and the process priority.
Shown also is how to set the manager. In the example shown your own GSB should be set to a unique name. ie MyPrivateCloudID
The public GSB cloud is called gsbcloud1_password1234.
VIP there has been a bug for a long time with workers. Sometimes the data streams dont update to the workers. In this case all results from the chart in GSB dont match the bottom GUI.
Its now obvious to spot. On the very right side, sort by symbol and delete any systems with the wrong symbol.
This is top priority bug to fix.

Bug found. We are getting performance metrics of systems from other users. Hope to have a fix soon.
This example has only 1 worker running, but its showing them all.

GSB 43.25 build. Feb 17 2018
Get file at the top of this thread.
GSB cloud on faster server. Will not talk to any older versions. (You must upgrade all workers and managers.)
Bug fixes and improvements.
Includes settings for CL & NG systems.
I think NG is the easiest of all markets.
Includes a worker that means you can contribute your spare CPU to the GSB cloud pool, and see what other GSB users are doing too.
C:\dropbox\GSB\GSB (Workers)2ContrubuteToGSBCloud1\GSBWorkerCloud1.43.25.exe
Each manager gets min of 1 cloud worker (if any are free) & 10% of the total cloud power. (what ever is bigger)

admin - 18-2-2018 at 07:05 PM

BUG. If someone uses gsbcloud1.. in their manager they get 100% of the cloud, not the 10%. Will get this fixed asap
The default setting of work is to allow GSB cloud to use it, and not allow your own manager to do this. Under app settings, workplace remove share key gsbcloud1 and set the next 2 settings to true.

admin - 19-2-2018 at 06:21 PM

GSB 43.29 build. Feb 20 2018
bug fixes & tweaks, 100% xfer to new faster server. Old one did not have all features moved to the faster server. Do not mix older workers with this build.
All users please go to this build.

cyrus68 - 20-2-2018 at 10:23 PM

i downloaded 43.29. The exe file is actually called 43.27.
Under Workplace, 'auto share in machine' and 'auto share in network' are no longer visible.
however, it is possible to delete the share keys.
I am not currently interested in cloud computing. Which non-cloud version has the fewest bugs?

The last two versions are the best. Is share keys gone from manager or worker or both.
Very soon we have WF sent to your or cloud workers

cyrus68 - 21-2-2018 at 01:30 AM

'auto share in machine' and 'auto share in network' are visible in worker settings but not manager settings.
is that how it's supposed to be?
I am not currently interested in cloud computing. So i deleted the share keys in the manager.
The 'share keys' space in the worker settings is blank.
Also, I am not yet interested in network computing over the Lan. So I've set the 'auto share in network' to 'false'.
Does it all sound right?

In your case share keys can be blank.
Share on pc should be true, and network dont care. I would leave on true.
Try .27 or .25 builds but dont mix different builds between manager and workers.

admin - 21-2-2018 at 10:40 PM

beware. Dll's from 43.27 upwards and 43.25 are not compatible. Don't mix them.If you do cloud workers wont work if the data files are not in the path.
Likely you will get exception error.

jptann - 23-2-2018 at 12:54 PM

Peter:

In the 43.29 version that comes up with the 43.27 label, the Generate Export script for custom indicators comes up blank. Can't use this version. I will check previous rev the real 43.27 to see if that is an issue.

This rev is not ready for prime time when a feature you have had for over 6 months now does not work

jptann - 23-2-2018 at 01:10 PM

The earlier versions .25 and .27 all have the same issue. Going back to 43.12 to use until this is fixed

I have used this in the last few months with no issues.
I will test this next week. Wasn't aware of it being an issue.

bug is in 43.2 but not 43.0
Will get it fixed fairly soon.

cyrus68 - 25-2-2018 at 11:10 PM

If we roll back to an older version, which are the folders and files that we should keep from 43.27?
for example, the folder 'data' in GSB(managers) looks like a candidate.

the dll have changed in newer versions. I think all other files should be ok to switch between versions. You should ideally look into why you had speed issues, rather than roll back to an older build. No other users are complaining over speed.

jptann - 28-2-2018 at 04:42 PM

Peter, in the next release are you going to fix the Custom Indicator portion? This blank editor started on 43.12

admin - 28-2-2018 at 05:44 PM

Quote: Originally posted by jptann

43.33 is pretty much ready for release, but it hasnt got this fixed. I think its going to be a simple fix, but we had much more critical bugs in the new release. This is high on the todo list.

admin - 28-2-2018 at 11:16 PM

GSB 43.35 build. March 1 2018
GSB Cloud fixes, support upload fix,
stability score in WF code, more diag info for errors
Custom indicator GUI fix.
Minor tweaks.
Includes settings for soyabeans
Includes a folder with gsbworker.cloud.exe if you want to contribute to GSB cloud.
dlls must be updated too from 43.25 and before

JPtann, this has your fix too.

jptann - 1-3-2018 at 10:47 AM

Thanks Peter, I will download them shortly.

jptann - 1-3-2018 at 11:02 PM

Peter, unfortunately the custom create a custom indicator has not been fixed. Your example for the MACD has 3 parameters for its function. To change to my custom function, I have to go into the parameter area of the "generate custom" to delete the "close" variable and change the parameter range and step for the next two variables. Unfortunately, your version 43.35 has screwed up in this area and does not allow me to change from 9:15:1 to 25:250:25. The older version of the code for this section worked fine, but something obviously simple changed here.

Thanks

jptann - 1-3-2018 at 11:04 PM

I have two parameters in my custom indicator that I have to change so i need this parameter settings to work like it used to.

Sorry its not fully fixed.
can you send me a screen shot, as im not clear.
I removed the close and got this code in ts

NumToStr(MACD(9, 21) of Data1, 15) + "|" +

admin - 1-3-2018 at 11:25 PM

I cant see the problem, but it might be fixed in 43.40 build. Hope to upload today.

admin - 2-3-2018 at 12:01 AM

Please try this version, with installer. Give me feed back if your issue is fixed, and all else works well.
I'm planing to release this to trial users soon.

GSB 44.03 build. March 7 2018
fix for some systems don't make it from the workers to the managers. I am not 100% certain this is fixed.
Has WF to the cloud, but manager & worker must be running (not stopped) for this to work.
For now you can only do 1 wf per active worker.
So if you want to wf 10 systems, you need 10 workers running.
Hope to make a job que and or multiple wf soon

Great function to run wfo on workers!

One question. If I load an old system to my manager the choice to run wfo on a worker is greyed out. Is is supposed to be able to run loaded system on workers as well?

The manager and worker have to be running to have the ability to send jobs to the workers. If the worker has stoped it gets disconnected from the manager, and any manager can then again drive the worker. Im hoping for improvements to this in the near future.
Bug where workers systems dont make to the manager has been fixed.

admin - 7-3-2018 at 07:22 PM

Ive noted that when manager finished, and no one else took the worker, WF jobs can still be sent to the worker.
WF from manager to worker didnt work with imported system.
There is a bug that the pf is missing from wf systems in the GUI with the graph. The pf is in the ts code however. Will be fixed soon.

cyrus68 - 7-3-2018 at 11:14 PM

I'm not sure if I got it right regarding WF jobs. The requirements seem to be:
1. GSB must be set to operate in cloud mode
2. It must be actively generating systems
3. If you have 10 workers operating locally, then you can send 10 WF jobs to cloud workers

By the way 43.40 isn't that bad regarding missing workers.
yesterday I ran a model and out of 19,935 unique systems, only 6 didn't make it to the manager.
All the workers were local and active on one computer.

cyrus68 - 7-3-2018 at 11:17 PM

sorry, I meant missing unique systems, not missing workers

All the workers were local and active on one computer.

My failure rate of systems going missing was much higher. Its perfect now when I tested it.

What works right now, and what works soon are two different things.
I am not yet sure how much is implemented.
If you has only one worker, you should be able to send any amount of systems to the worker(s).
I sent 5 WF, but got two working, and 3 status is running. I'm not sure if the running ones are working. I have about 50 workers so too hard too find the WF jobs.
However if the amount of wf per worker, is greater than x, or the ram is too low,it should put them in a job que.
I expect the job que is not yet done.
Hope this helps. Its work in progress.

cyrus68 - 8-3-2018 at 10:52 PM

I ran a model on 44.03 and it is much worse than the previous build.
There were 6 workers on 1 computer and were operating properly. However the manager froze at 16/50 restarts.
The workers were at 28/50 restarts with 18,000 unique systems and the manager at 16/50 with 11,000.
The manager unfroze temporarily and then promptly refroze. When 50/50 was completed the manager was stuck at 45/50.

I need to go back to 43.40. However, I overwrote the GSB.pdb file with the new one. How do I get the old one?

You have way too many systems. You need to tighten up your performance metrics. I don't know if this is related but its the first thing I would look at.
Going to the older build I expect will solve nothing.
You don't have to have .pdp file. The file does help however if you get a crash to diagnose things.
Can you zip up your exceptions folder of the last day or so and email to me. Last time you had issues it was connectivity to the sql server. No other users have reported issues. Might be that again but dont know till I see the logs.
44.03 is going brilliantly for me.
see picture.

cloud-power.png - 407kB

cyrus68 - 8-3-2018 at 11:24 PM

the model was based on NG. the filters were the same as yours except that PF was reduced to 2.0.
I ran an NG model on version 43.40 with an additional secondary data stream and it worked fine.
the manager did not freeze.
I thought the role of the manager was to aggregate the systems produced by the workers.
speed was about 3500 per worker.
anyway i'll send you the files

admin - 10-3-2018 at 05:14 AM

A web server that GSB cloud uses to get your IP address has fallen over. No idea when its going to come good.

The web site that failed is below. Cloud wont work and many
69.162.69.148:80
exception files will be generated.
Todays build fixes this.

Peter:

ON the latest version of the system (stand-alone) 44.04, my computer last night did a reboot (always Microsoft on a Tuesday evening) and I had an excellent running system but did not have time to review the WF completions. When I went to the auto save this morning, and tried to load a few of the saved systems I got this error. How does one recover from such a disaster?

I don't understand this. Is your data and time correct?
Can you try to reboot. Can you try the manager. Windows update should not cause this.
If you have no success, zip up your c:\dropbox\gsb folder and put in dropbox or gdrive etc. If you send me an exe file it will be blocked by isp so important to just send a url to GSB

GSB 44.09 build. March 17 2018

Lots of updates to cloud WF. Fix for stability scores now in wf ts code.
wf to cloud now multi-threaded.
DO NOT MIX .04 AND .09 manager and worker.
GSB share key for this is version gsbcloud2_password1234

needs all the other files from your previous build. 44.03??

admin - 18-3-2018 at 11:47 PM

See also some new features of the last build.
There still are some bugs to iron out.

Includes other bug fixes and few other tweaks.

GSB 44.14 build. March 24 2018
more improvements to cloud, and cleaning up the data base etc

admin - 28-3-2018 at 03:21 AM

GSB 44.20 build. 28 March 2018
A manager can be stopped, and we can do WF to the cloud.
WF to the cloud can also be done Multi threaded.
We can now WF saved systems to the cloud.
But you CANT start a manager, send saved systems wf to the cloud if the manager hasnt first been initially connected to the workers.

data1 can be changed. ie you use 30 min data to build a system, then synthetic 29,30,31 + noise etc to see change in results.
You need to click on the system in the lower GUI graph
Note it takes a while after loading the system to get the new results.
Changing trading-dates for backtest and walk-forward implemented. (Left part of the GUI under trading periods)
Other bug fixes and tweaks.
share for for cloud now must be gsbcloud3_password1234
This is so we don't mix non compatible manager, worker versions.
Some new features need a bit more polishing how they work.

admin - 29-3-2018 at 01:39 AM

GSB 44.21 build. 29 March 2018
unzip into c:\dropbox\gsb..
Has settings, and fix for alloospass. Some of the new metrics had average trade set to zero, but it should have been -999 etc
Bug fix for .20 build ts code wont compile. gsbcloud3_password1234 now the default share key.

admin - 8-4-2018 at 08:26 PM

GSB 44.30 build. 9 April 2018
Lots of bug fixes. Fix for some WF on the cloud not work
Option to replace inputs: in TS code with vars:
Great for if you cut and paste code into the same eld, you don't have to worry about the inputs remembering the settings that are saved in the chart.
Whats it the pipeline.
i) GSB can' see every x days data ie 6 and the user can invert to see the opposite as unseen data. This gets around problems like certain years are just bad to trade and are not a good period for out of sample.
ii) initial build of multi symbols or time frames in parallel, rather than the current mode in series
iii) After this alternative exits and secondary filters.

GSB 44.33 build. 12 April 2018
Option to skip every x days. This can then be inverted to see out of sample that GSB has never seen. Trading period dates - there is now a option to use, ignore or invert.
Option to use setexitonclose for market on close.
Option to use vars: instead of input:
see http://trademaid.info/forum/viewthread.php?tid=117&page=2#pi... for nth use. It works brilliantly.

1) So no more the old path C:\dROPBOX\GSB\GSB (Managers)??
but C:\GSB\?
Path is authomatically selected by .exe file (installer) or by me?

2) The new code (GSB_SCRIPTS_2018_01_01+WithupdatedGsbsys1ES+mcfix....) is only for M.chart or for Tstation too?

3) the cloud pass is always the same?
gsbcloud3_password1234

1) The installer puts into c:\gsb, but oyu can move it any ware now.
Just set the path of the data files public directory to where the gsb.exe file is. It finds the data in the sub folder under this
2) Only needed for MC users to update GSBsupersmoother and a minor update for any users using GSBsys1Es system
3) Likely to stay that way as version control of incompatible versions should happen before too long.

GSB 44.50 build. 24 April 2018

Do not use older workers with this manager. Old managers can use this versions workers.
Favorites has 4 modes, Nth & dates toggle are in the GUI.
Performance metrics are now averaged with mouse over.
Icon changes
On startup, GSB will try to find and load the mode-based icon (that is, GSBManager.ico, GSBWorker.ico, or GSBStandalone.ico) located the app folder, if any.
2. Else, it will try to load the generic icon (that is, GSB.ico) located the app folder, if any.
3. Else, it will use the default/built-in icon (red, green, or yellow for manager, worker, or standalone, respectively).

TS folder renamed to inc MC.
Updates to nth methodology. Don't use older workers with this build.
sounds if nth have changed (can take minutes to change 1000's of systems)
Improvement to cloud reliability, bug fixes.
Metrics for system average can now be seen, not just with mouse overs.
Verification data. (ie 29 30 31) min bars is not yet going on this build.
To update, just run this updater program in the path of the manager. Any workers that are open will upgrade (if cpu usage = 0) Manager and standalone will download but not open

I checked one of your machines and its on 45.02 so Im not sure what is going on.
Regardless a new version should be out in a few days.

When I click on a strategy in the Manager 45.02, the metrics change.

I have two attached pictures. The first is before I click on a strategy and the other is after I click on them.

A different row is high lighted in your example. Regardless I have experienced this issue myself. The cause is something in the left side opt settings has been changed after genetic optimization has been done. In my cause I couldn't figure out what it was. With some effort this could be done, but I gave up quickly. The good news is before long we will have an option to reset the systems(s) to the settings they were created on. For now restart GSB, pick your settings, save them and then build a new set of systems.

Verification score. We now have a count of the number of verification systems that pass the verification metrics in app settings.
This should be released in a few days
verification2.png - 313kB

Override original settings. If something on the left opt settings is changed, after systems are built - Then the system results will change when you click on them.
This is wrongly perceived as a bug. To fix this highlight the system(s) and click override original settings.

In Build 45.31
We now can do nth ratio calculations fully automated.
run GSB with say nth 1.
If you run the manager (not standalone) wait till new systems top coming through. This can take some time to stop.
Select all system
Right click and change nth day mode from donotTrade to Trade.
Wait till all systems have changed. (popup in windows taskbar will tell you, or scroll through all the systems in GSB to check)
right click and do update statistics.
Ave/previous average. Note in last videos the higher above 1 the ratio is, the worse.
Not we have done the reciprocal of this number. So if our threshold of a market failure was 2, its now 0.5. 1 or above would be perfect score meaning
out of sample performance > in sample performance
This is described in detail in the market validation video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFC7ego_Y70

Peter, do you have any where that describes how you add your data files under the new 45.02 and beyond versions. I can't seem to figure out how to go to the data file directory under the new approach. Did I miss anything. I get an error message saying when I try to enter ES13M data it is missing some file. I'm trying to find it, but to no avail. Did I miss a video on this. I assume this new approach is implemented to allow for multi time frame optimizing, but not sure. Need some simple guidance on this, or send me to a video. I have reverted back to 42.77c until I can figure this out.

Thanks in advance

There is a attachment in that post: verificationData45.02.docx. It describes the verification process, but also how to add the data

I will do a video of this all once the multi data verification is complete. (ie you trade multiple symbols / markets with the same parameters)
JpTan, Sorry for not putting the link up on the docs. My opinion was the new features were impossible to use without basic documentation.
Thanks Petzy for your moral support and helpful comments.

GSB 45.32 build. 19 June 2018

exe only, update 45.31 with this. Has fix for market validation averages being + when it should have been *. Use all the other files from 45.31 build.
If you dont use this feature, 45.31 is ok.
Version 46.02, (not released yet) I am not sure its buggy, but trading over 29 30 31 min bars leaving nth1 (every second day of sample) gave 0.93 result. This is 7% degradation.
If this is correct, its outstanding. Note the old metric was 1/0.93 We are now doing the reciprocal of the value.
A video on this will occur once the multi data features are finished.
Documentation updated here.

Testing now 46.07. Bug fix for market validation statistics tests.
Multi data times / markets seems to work well, but there is no WF yet on multimarket.
We can also optimize data1, to build on the best single data stream. This could be es 15,30,60 and or er15,30 etc.

Some bug fixes.
Hope to release on Monday.

admin - 25-6-2018 at 12:37 AM

46.13 - not released yet.
We used to use for market verification
average(fitnessIS/FitnessOOS,NpIS/NpOOS,AtIS/AtOOS,PfIS/PfOos)
Originally it was inverted.
Now we use
(1-average(fitnessIS/FitnessOOS,NpIS/NpOOS,AtIS/AtOOS,PfIS/PfOos))*100
so the first time in gsb we did this, a figure of 2 or below was considered a pass. (figure a guess)
when we invert that its 0.5 or more is a pass
New method is 50% or above is a pass.
so lets say
IS results
np,$50,000 at $100, fitness 5000,000 pf 2

OOS
np,$25,000 at $100, fitness 2500,000 pf 2
AVERAGE (0.5,1,.5,1) = .75
Degradation score = 25% (1-0.25)*100
46.13.png - 338kB

We can also export the metrics in CSV

Peter:

Next time you do an installation Zip to install the full program on a given computer, can you ask your programmers to add one more install screen that will allow us to choose what directory the program will be installed to. I like to run the GSB on my fast SSD and that is my "I" directory. You can still have it do the default to C: drive but would be nice to have the option. Thanks in advance. This will save me from manually moving all the files each time.

I think the app settings have a path coded in the for location of data files.
This gives issues if the folder is moved. I often just give the new exe files only, but then get the odd user who doesent know that these alone wont run.
There is an auto updater program that automatically downloads gsb new builders into all paths of open gsb managers and workers. That might be a better option. What do you think? All workers whose cpu is zero, get closed and re-opened.
It was designed for those of us who have many servers and dont want the manual process of updates.

jptann - 3-7-2018 at 10:48 AM

No issue, I have a general GSB folder on my SSD and just keep updating all the new files in that one. Seems to work fine. I typically have to change the file locations inside the app when I do this. No big deal, just a thought. I forgot the path for the data files

admin - 6-7-2018 at 04:57 AM

GSB 47.18 out in a few days. It has all performance metrics filters from app settings moved to opt settings. Very overdue.
47.10 had a fair few bugs, so good if all users can upgrade.
I will also make the default settings for TS code to be vars: not inputs:
Reason is a great deal of users cut and paste ts code into existing eld, and the older settings remain in the chart. Then you get GSB<>TS
Perhaps the most common mistake to make with TS & GSB

Peter:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the last rev 47.10 is going backwards fast. I just spent two days running a new run with this app and the following are the issues I have found:

1. None of the workers show any unique systems that they find (minor detail but useful in debug)
2. The application settings do not work. That is, one feature that I use is for a strategy to be unique it has to earn $X, well this release ignored this constraint and just listed unique systems with some random filter. It also ignored the # of trades filter.
3. The custom indicators do not work
4. The new data structure for data files is "buggy". In that sometimes when I hit the return button, it saves the files, but other times it does not.

I know this is asking a lot, but new releases should build upon features that already are operational under previous releases. Can you please tell me what release has the custom indicators working since the program is not useful to me without this key feature. Standard indicators are a great deal less useful than proprietary indicators that I have developed over the last 40 years.

Finally, in quickly trying to get new features out, your roll outs seem to break previous features. After over 50 years in technology and software development, this is a practice that should be avoided at all costs. I think you should down release (please let me know what version) that has custom indicators that work and other features that we found useful. Otherwise, new improvements to the system are not appreciated when programmers add "new and better" while breaking other older features.

Sorry for the frustration, but this last release was the worst!!! Does anyone do any QC with what the programmers give you? I need the custom indicators working, so I can't upgrade to the newer versions until this works along with all the older versions (at least the filters for unique systems).

Again, what is the last version where custom indicators are working. Anything after that is a waste of time and is not worth my spending any time with them. I understand custom indicators not working for one release and the bug fixed on the next release. I don't understand killing this feature and never going back to fix what I consider one of the most important features of the GSP. Using your 37 standard indicators is not where my development is at, so I would appreciated resolving this matter. I only purchased this application because you had custom indicators and now even more features don't work.

jptann - 8-7-2018 at 12:32 PM

Sorry for the above post, just some frustration last night.

I am trying the Stand Alone version right now. I did try to use the custom indicator portion and found a couple of errors:

1. The script lists the two data files in the description with out a comment line. \\ I suspect that when I commented these out it gave rise to the second error:

2. FileAppend function failed.

Under the new data structure, there needs to be a new way to define Data1 and Data2 etc. in the custom script. My guess is if this is fixed (hopefully it is not fatal to the way you now set up the data structure) then Custom indicators will be operational again.

I am in the process of running the Stand Alone version of this release to see if we see the same issues as described above.

Thanks in advance and again, sorry for the tenor of the above post. One thing that would be helpful is to provide an approved release (even under the old data structure) that I can use with Custom indicators (have not been verifying as of yet or using the Nth day). I get an error saying my version is too old, load a newer one.

Well, I'm stuck kind of, since I can only run the current version but the Custom indicator handling does not work.

Thanks in advance

Stand alone

jptann - 8-7-2018 at 12:35 PM

Peter, a bit of good news. On the stand alone version it looks like the App settings for Unique systems is working. The error I discovered last night was using the Manager + Workers.

There were a number of bugs in .10, fixed on .15
You should upgrade to version above .10
I want to release .24 though, but still testing.

A few changes in 43.24 are
metrics now opt settings, not app settings
improved cloud functions, but workers polling to manager slower. (2 min from 30 sec) This means max of 2 min, average 1 min
This reduced cloud database load to stop systems being lost and or exceptions.
Auto-disable readonly attribute in parent folder (and child folders and files) on startup. (Some users get c:\gsb\ as read only. So settings wont save etc)
Disabled Inputs (in exported scripts) by default. (Use vars instead)
Update auto-saved system PF to be 1.8 (instead of 1.2).

I am sorry for grief caused. .10 build was very rushed, and had to be out out as all GSB code expired last month. This was also needed to keep compatibility with the cloud. I think Custom indicators is working after .10 build, but NOT in multi time frame setup. ie 29 30 31 min data1 etc.

admin - 8-7-2018 at 04:41 PM

jptann
"1. None of the workers show any unique systems that they find (minor detail but useful in debug)"
On manager, make sure show systems on worker is true.
"2. The application settings do not work. That is, one feature that I use is for a strategy to be unique it has to earn $X, well this release ignored this constraint and just listed unique systems with some random filter. It also ignored the # of trades filter."
Check c:\gsb and all sub folders on not read only. This might be reason for file append to fail too.
"3. The custom indicators do not work"
I think fixed after .10 build, but not on multi data:
"4. The new data structure for data files is "buggy". In that sometimes when I hit the return button, it saves the files, but other times it does not."
Try build after .10 Ive added so many data streams, but have no issues. Let me know if an issue after .10

admin - 8-7-2018 at 10:49 PM

GSB 47.29 build. July 8 2018
many bug fixes and improvements, speed increases for some things, gui updates.
Fix for intermittent nth stats not always correct.
Performance metrics now in app settings, not op settings
Best not use different versions of workers and managers.
turns of read only mode on the GSB folder. (make take a little longer to start GSB)
(Read only folder was a bug for some users with installer file)
Install over the top of 47.10 or older builds.
note workers will be a bit slower to start, 4-5 min is normal. We will improve this later. It means we don't get the issue of lost systems from workers as the database was full. Workers now communicate every 2 min, while it was 30 seconds.

47-24.png - 216kB

admin - 9-7-2018 at 02:31 AM

Now there is installer file.
A fair bit of work has been put into the manager settings, but it may not be 100% correct.
NG * CL now has secondary filter of GA close/CloseD
ES has SF of close-closeD
ng contracts time has changed to reflect central USA time.
zero work has been done on stand alone settings.

Peter:

I tried 47.29 and will report back on what I find with the manager + workers. I did try a custom script again, and I continue to get the File Append error in TS. I did go through and make the whole GSB directory not "read only" and still no joy.

Is there someplace else in the application that continues to make some of these files "read only". I have continued to use the Window's property and apply them and everything changes, but it does not save the changes (at least it does not go through each of the files like it used to) so I suspect something in the app outside of Windows 10 is reverting some of these files back to "read only". I am testing the manager + workers right now and so far it looks like they are working

Im seeing all my folders I check as having readonly grey, but ticked. No idea why but administrator can write to the contents. Like your saying, I don't know if its a new windows feature, or always been like this. GSB now turns of any read only permissions when it starts, as I have observed that for some GSB uses, files couldnt be written. Im at a loss to know why this issue occurred.
As a test, can you change the file path of fileappend to another location. ie c:\temp and make the temp folder
Check that path 1 exits in the TS code, like below.
path1("c:\GSB\Data (DropBox Shared Folder)\Indicators Data\ES.30.Minute.830.1500.CentralUSATime\MACD.500.636668958952120164.gsbcustindic.txt"),
path2
